The cities of Edmundston and Madawaska, Maine, have signed an agreement, allowing them to share services during a major fire.
The two communities have been doing so for a number of years, but it was turned into a formal agreement on Tuesday, July 3.
Not only will they be able to rely on one another, they will also be able to use specialized services, such as HAZMAT teams, dive teams and rescue equipment.
Mario L'Italien, director of fire and rescue in Edmundston, says this agreement will help to better serve the two communities.
