The fourth album by Texas rapper C-Note
offers more of the same as its predecessors: straight-up gangsta rhymes and thug-life boasts set to bass-heavy electronic beats. Blessed with a fluid motormouth flow even at high speeds, as well as a solid rhythmic sense that he shows off best on the tricky, staccato "Get Paid," C-Note
is a genuinely talented rapper. His lyrics, on the other hand, are fairly ordinary, covering the same badass ground as seemingly hundreds of other MCs, and the beats on Network'n
aren't particularly earth-shattering. C-Note
has obvious skills, but he's potentially capable of more interesting work than this relatively pedestrian stuff.
